WHAT IS LADY LUCK? By John Maerz BA LMT
Over the centuries luck has been considered something that happens to you or is out of your control thereby absolving us of any responsibility for the outcome. Nothing could be further from the truth. Laws of metaphysics say that nothing happens by “accident” and that all events have a direct cause due to the law of “Cause and effect.” Simply put, “What goes around comes around (karma).” Funk & Wagnall’s describes luck as that which happens by chance. Then “What is chance?” you say. Funk & Wagnall's also describes chance as the unknown cause of events. Luck, in numerology, resolves to a two which is the number of opposition. If we take sides (our tendency toward personal preferences) we see other circumstances as out of our reach. If we adopt this as our belief (expected course of circumstances) this gives away our power in choice. Now we are subjecting ourselves to “Lady Luck” which implies changeable, elusive and out of our control. If we don’t polarize ourselves (take sides by seeing our objective as an adversary to be overcome) and we believe our goal to be within our reach (expected course of circumstances) the energy of our thought (our will) will manifest our desires. The hidden key is that we must believe it (expect it)! The last word associated with luck is “fate.” Funk & Wagnall's describes fate as that which is predetermined. Our belief (expected course of circumstances) is that our fate (predetermined course of circumstances) is controlled by someone outside of ourselves. In natural law fate is described as that which has already been set in motion and must resolve itself. In simple language, what you have started you must finish, in this life or in others. This means that your previous actions have determined the course of action even though you may not recognize or understand the patterns. So the next time you think “Lady Luck” is responsible for your circumstances, think again. What have you set in motion that has led you to this point? What belief do you hold that supports this outcome? Your expectation can be your best friend or your worst enemy. As you believe, so you are. Choose. |
